Delegates' Welcome Reception

Monday, October 19, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m.

This intimate gathering will introduce you to CSTD and IFTDO staff, volunteers and Board members. You'll also meet exhibitors and sponsors as well as your colleagues from around the world and across Canada. Come kick off the Conference by sharing some refreshments with us and meeting your fellow delegates.

Attend this lively networking and learning session and select from 15 simultaneous presentations. Over the course of the two-hour event, you’ll attend 3 distinct presentations on a wide variety of topics including facilitation, instructional design, managing the learning function, performance improvement and more. Interact directly with
the speakers and learn from your peers in this unique and engaging format. Each presentation is approximately 20 minutes long.

Opening Reception

Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Get the first glimpse of the trade show floor and discover solutions to all of your workplace training needs. With over 120 booths to explore, the opening reception will give you a great opportunity to find out what services are available to you. You'll also mingle with other delegates over some refreshments and snacks.

President’s Dinner & Awards Ceremony

Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  

The President's Dinner is a special evening where CSTD celebrates workplace learning and performance by honouring individuals in the following areas: CTP and CTDP recipients from the past year, Canadian Awards for Training Excellence and, of course, the President’s Award. 

This year, the President's Award is granted to Diane Lynn Dupuy, CM, a member of the Order of Canada, and Founder and Artistic Director of the internationally renowned Famous PEOPLE Players, a professional black light theatre company that combines music with life size characters that pay tribute to the music and artistry of Famous People.

The dinner ticket is included in the conference package registration, but you must RSVP at the time of registration.  Check your confirmation email for full details.  The dinner is also open to the public. To purchase a single dinner ticket or table, visit our conference registration page.   Once ordered, all dinner tickets will be attached to the bottom of your conference name badge, which is available during the onsite registration hours.

Live Band Karaoke Event
Thursday, October 22, 2009 from 8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Toronto Centre Hotel. 

Work off your dinner calories by joining your peers in a true celebration! Join our live band on stage by belting out a favourite number. Find safety in numbers by joining a group or stay on the sidelines and cheer your pals along. The Karaoke event is your way to end the conference with style and energy - this is the party not to miss!
