CATE Canadian Awards for Training Excellence (CATE) honour innovative, Canadian-developed learning products and programs. Validating that the learning product used meets "best practice" learning principles, these awards also provide feedback outlining merit and areas for improvement. Open to all organizations with at least one CSTD member, CATE recognizes programs in several categories and awards the winners with prestige and credibility. Informational Webinar
Previously hosted by Calvin McKnight, this informational webinar goes through the in and outs of the awards program. Recognition Award plaques are presented at the CSTD National Conference and the award recipients are profiled in the ceremony's booklet, the CSTD E-newsletter and website. In addition, all award recipients can use the official awards logo to promote their success with their clients and peers.

“Mental Health Works addresses complex issues around managing employees with mental health issues in the workplace. We have benefited from the rigorous application process involved in the Canadian Awards for Training Excellence. CSTD has elevated the quality of our work by increasing our focus on long-term benefits to our clients. A significant and unanticipated consequence has been the effective marketing cachet of being able to claim that we are an award-winning program. Thank you to the dedicated people at CSTD for helping us in our pursuit of excellence.” |

“It is important that our team effort in producing a high quality product has gained external recognition - the Canadian Awards for Training Excellence certainly provides for that. We found that being able to identify our Systematic Selling program as a Canadian Awards for Training Excellence winner dramatically increased interest in the program. In addition, the recognition has served to validate the time and effort spent jointly with our partners, Williams & Goffin, in the development and marketing of the program." |

“Receiving the Canadian Award for Training Excellence in 2004 for our Toronto Ambassador Taxicab Training Course was significant in recognizing the contribution of the professional adult educators who developed and delivered the training course. Receiving this award has increased
|
| the number of enquiries from Transportation Regulators from municipalities across Canada and cities worldwide and has further positioned the City to market and licence its taxicab driver/owner training courses. The Course has also served as a prototype for other Departments within the City of Toronto responsible for designing training curriculum; it's encouraging to know that we are on the right path!” |
