Strategic Plan
CSTD Vision, Mission and Values 2008-2010 Overview Goal 1 To establish the Canadian workplace learning and development community with a professional association that provides relevant member services, professional development and resources.
Priority Items: - Improve the CSTD web presence
- Expand and develop CSTD’s chapters to include industry or special interest group chapters
- Provide professional development opportunities through conferences and symposia
- Review the role of CSTD in providing relevant research to members
Goal 2 To provide the workplace learning and development profession in Canada with a common body of knowledge that is current and reflects the competencies and standards of the profession; and to ensure there is a professional designation(s) that is based on the common body of knowledge.
Priority Items
- Review the CSTD certification policies, procedures and processes and make recommendations
- Review and update the Training Competency Architecture (TCA)
- Review and revise the certification exam
- Based on a member needs assessment, design and develop candidate support tools and resources
Other Priorities:
- Deliver the train the trainer project entitled Bridge to Africa devised following the presentation of the President’s Award to Stephen Lewis.
- Deliver the IFTDO World Conference in 2009
